A new story in the same city

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is available exclusively on Netflix as a ten-episode, standalone anime from CD PROJEKT RED and TRIGGER. It returns to the world of Cyberpunk 2077 with a fresh cast and a different story, rather than extending the original crew’s journey.

The official premise follows Weak, a former cyberpunk legend trying to find purpose after losing his cyberware, and D, a nomad whose pursuit of revenge draws him towards corporate secrets. The series centres on family, obsession and legacy. Those are the announced starting points; this note does not reveal how their stories unfold.

Kai Ikarashi directs, Kanno Ichigo leads character design, and Bartosz Sztybor and Masahiko Otsuka return on the story side. For viewers deciding whether to start, the key distinction is that this is a new entry point into Night City: the setting connects the series to the game, while the characters and perspective give it a separate identity.
