Twelve sports, with different ways to move
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort brings twelve sports to Switch 2, with a release date of 22 October 2026. The collection mixes familiar activities such as bowling, tennis, golf and basketball with boxing, archery, thumb wrestling and more.
The controls change with the activity. Players swing and aim with motion controls, use Joy-Con 2 mouse controls for skateboarding, steer across the water in Power Cruising and tilt the controller to fly in Prop Plane. Customisable Sportsmate and Mii characters can take part in online or offline play.
Nintendo lists one to four players, but the accessories you need depend on the multiplayer setup. Online features require a Nintendo Account and Nintendo Switch Online membership. That makes the practical question for a group session which sports everyone wants to play and whether you have the required controllers, rather than assuming one controller setup covers every activity.
